Quick fixes

Start here.

Current location is unavailable

  1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
  2. Choose PrivateRoute and allow location while using the app.
  3. Turn on Precise Location for a more accurate starting point.
  4. Return to the app and try Current Location again.

An address is not recognized

  1. Enter a full street address, city, and state.
  2. Select a result from the suggestions instead of leaving raw text in the field.
  3. Try a nearby landmark or intersection if the address is new.
  4. Check your connection; Apple’s map search requires network access.

Routes will not compare

  1. Confirm both the origin and destination show selected places.
  2. Try a shorter or more specific address.
  3. Make sure the destination is reachable by car.
  4. Force-close and reopen the app if MapKit temporarily fails.

Recent destinations do not open

  1. Tap the destination row once and allow the search to finish.
  2. If it was saved under an older app build, search for it again.
  3. Clear recent destinations and recreate the entry if it remains invalid.
  4. Send us the app version if the problem repeats.

Distance appears in feet

Route overview distances in the current release are intended to display in miles. If you see feet in Route Overview, take a screenshot and send your app version and the two places you compared.

TestFlight build expired

Apple TestFlight builds expire after 90 days. Open TestFlight and install the newest available PrivateRoute build. If none appears, contact support so we can confirm your tester access.
