1. The service
PrivateRoute is an informational route-comparison tool. It combines navigation information with records of publicly documented roadside monitoring to help you compare options. Version 1.0 is offered without a required account and without paid subscription features. If paid features are introduced later, their price and additional terms will be disclosed before purchase.
2. Safety and lawful use
You are responsible for driving safely, obeying all traffic laws, following posted signs and official instructions, and using a device only when lawful and safe. Do not interact with the app while driving. PrivateRoute is not an emergency service and must not be used to facilitate unlawful conduct, evade lawful authorities, interfere with infrastructure, or endanger any person.
3. No guarantee about monitoring or route conditions
Records may be incomplete, delayed, imprecise, duplicated, removed, or incorrect. Devices and practices can change without public notice. A low exposure result does not mean a route is monitoring-free, private, safe, legal, open, or suitable. Traffic, weather, construction, road access, and other real-world conditions may differ from what the app displays.
4. Third-party and Apple services
Map search, geocoding, location, and route calculation rely on Apple services and may be governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Third-party data sources remain subject to their own rights, restrictions, and availability. PrivateRoute is not sponsored by or affiliated with a government agency merely because it uses a public record.
5. Acceptable use
You may use PrivateRoute for personal, lawful route planning. You may not attempt to disrupt the service; bypass technical protections; introduce malicious code; scrape or redistribute the app’s database in bulk; falsely represent data as official or guaranteed; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or use the service in a way that harms others.
6. Ownership and feedback
The app, website, design, code, branding, and original presentation are owned by the application provider or its licensors. Public facts remain subject to applicable law, and third-party materials remain owned by their respective holders. If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the service without an obligation to compensate you, while you retain ownership of your original content.
7. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, coverage areas, or data sources to improve accuracy, protect users, comply with law, or maintain the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every feature will remain free forever. Any new charge will be disclosed before purchase.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or any particular route outcome. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the application provider and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, personal decisions based on incomplete information, or conditions encountered while traveling. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
10. Apple terms and beneficiaries
For an app obtained through Apple’s App Store, Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for PrivateRoute except as required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the applicable end-user terms. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies except to the extent these terms provide additional, non-conflicting conditions.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict access for material violations, security threats, unlawful use, or when required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—will survive.
12. Applicable law and consumer rights
These terms are governed by applicable United States law, without overriding mandatory consumer protections or conflict-of-law rules that apply to you. Any dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction unless another process is required by law.
